Friday after work, went to Sugar @ LKF, and it was fun... definitely more so when compared to my experience at Club No. 9 last week. But cheonging in hk quite ex. cover charge alone cost ard 40 SGD, drinks around 16 each... all in all, spent about 100 in a night... aaahhzz.. but one of the weirdest experience that i've had. Not long b4 we got into Sugar, the lights were switched on, and the police came in, doing routine checks. Good thing that a fren told us to bring our passport, and was really surprised that it came handy...

Got back to my apartment at 4 plus, and woke up at 8, and its.... MACAUUU

The famous Cathedral of Saint Paul

Played at 3 casinos, the first of which is the "Grand Lisboa", this is how it looks like in the day,

And in the night... voila!

2nd one that we went is Lisboa Hotel and Casino, not that nice though

The last one we went is the Wynn, quite posh. Actually, I don't find gambling that fun lahz, though there are more casinos in Macau than the number of clubs in LKF, but the casinos are more or less the same, the machines, games. The only diff is the decor bah... There are still plenty plenty more casinos that we didn't visit. I lost 30 HKD, and our da jie da won 160 hkd... haha...

2nd Week

Ok, I don't have alot of photos to share this week, didn't take much, maybe i'll take more over the weekend.
U know sth? I get to eat buffet lunch almost everyday, cos' we are given access to the executive mess of HSBC, and they serve really good food, buffet style, and they change their menu everyday... damn nice, and we only need to pay ard 8 SGD per meal, damn nice rite... haha...

HSBC book a small cinema theatre on Friday evening for the interns, and we are given a free popcorn set each. We watched Die hard 4.0, quite nice lahz, big production, but don't really like the unrealistic aspect of the plot. FYI, the cinema ushers all wear suit and tie....errr... haha, looks like professional butler, so formal.

After the show, we went back to causeway bay - a modern shopping area - to look for a billiard centre. We had to trek like 2 km for the one and only billiard centre in causeway bay, and it turn out to be a sports club with members only entry...aaahhzzz... from what I found out from my hk fren, the guys here shop and play cybergames during their free time, pool and sports are not popular over here.

Sianz...
Didn't go back after that, went to LFK to join WZ and his ABN frens @ club no. 9. Quite nice, dome shaped interior, and they project the music videos of the songs on the dome shape roof. The coolest part of the club is that there's a large balcony with comfortable cushions and tables for chilling out, nice view too. The cover charge is 40+ SGD, quite ex. but one of the ABN interns know the bouncer, so we got in for free... heh.
Ok lahz, the club is nice, but the company....errr.... a fren brought her UBS intern mates over, 7 guys and 3 gers... the gers are frenly, but the guys quite bo chup abt us, too bz stuffing the gers with drinks. We don't know them well, feeling quite lost & awkward, like some silly prick on the dance floor, so we juz went out to the balcony to chill out b4 going back to rest...

some photos of the view from the balcony

untitled

This feels more like a holiday trip than an overseas internship. Maybe its only the first week, but i was alot more overwhelmed with work when i interned in ubs sg last summer.

Tell you all something interesting. there's this swedish intern in HSBC, by the name of Fredrick sth sth, can't remember his full name. He used to play soccer in the top division of the Swedish football league and played against top club like AIK Stockholm. An the best thing is, you can find his name in the Championship Manager 03/04 version. Cool rite!??!
He really lived up to his name. We went to Victoria park for a game of street soccer on Saturday morning, and he absolutely dominated the court. wow!

We went to Lan Kwai Fong on Saturday night for a drink, here's some photo of LKF, the famous clubbing place in HK

On Sunday, we went kowloon for shopping. Bought a berm and polo T from the Esprit factory outlet, cheap cheap cheap. Both for only 60 SGD. hah
This is a view of HK island from habour city, a mega mall, similar to our vivocity.
It was a holiday on monday morning cos' of the july 1st, decade anniversary of the handover. We went to HK Uni to support a hk fren who's playing in a volleyball match. And guess who they're up against??? NUS!! haha.
Final Result: HKU 3-1 NUS
HKU in white, NUS in orange

our hk fren then brought us to a hk cha chan teng for pork chop rice, and the portion... is....... HUGE. The one on the left is a picture of a old, traditional cha chan teng, while the one on the right is a modern one. Can tell the diff rite...
